About Aaron

About Aaron I started playing electric bass at about 10 years old. After playing bass through my teens I switched to percussion and since 1998 I have focused on African music mostly the music of the Shona people of Zimbabwe and Cuban style conga drumming. As a founding member of the band Bliss Gypsys, I toured across the United States and into B.C., Canada. Among the instruments already mentioned I have learned the fundamentals of West African djembe and Indian tabla with a little guitar and banjo thrown in there for fun. I play string bass with bluegrass and some jazz and Latin music on occasion. I also help pass on the music by teaching at the local community center.
