I make mbira nyunga-nyunga and mbira dzavadzimu both of which come from the Shona people of Zimbabwe. I use walnut for my mbira boards and a bolt system for holding the cross bar across the keys. I use a variety of metals for keys but they are all hand forged to size and pitch. I can install a pickup system in an mbira ordered from me or do a custom install on an instrument made from somebody else. Also I have written an instruction booklet and CD on how to play mbira nyunga-nyunga. |
